Bert,
I experimented with using the opening. I don't think it makes much difference on the 3 day pivot. It makes more of a difference on the regular floor pivot, or 1 day pivot. But I think using the current day opening price makes more sense than using the previous day, as the open from yesterday has little importance on the current day, unless it was something unusual such as a large gap. I've looked at pivots drawn with various combinations of current opens and previous high, lows, and closes, and really don't see any advantage over the traditional pivot of the H+L+C/3. When you average it over the past three days to make the 3-day pivot, I don't think it makes much difference if you include the open from today, yesterday, or leave it out.

Hi Buddy,
Love my TS! I am getting used to it and I will be live shortly. Thanx again. I read you article on Floor Pivots. Do you recommend going from "H+L+C/3" to "H+L+C+O/4" if the Open is far away from the Close? How far do you figure an Open should be from the previous Close (in points, I use S&P futures) to adjust the formula?
Best regards,
Bert
